What is Changing Lives?

Changing Lives is a newsletter full of mental health tips and inspirational true stories. It’s a source of guidance, support, and encouragement for readers interested in changing their lives and helping others do the same.

It’s also an honest account of the mental health and other challenges I’ve faced. I write about what I’ve learned and done that has helped me create a better life.

I believe that the knowledge and experiences I share can help others figure out how to make positive changes and/or cope with unwanted ones. Comments from grateful readers have reinforced that belief and inspired me to keep writing.

Who am I?

I’m Wendi Gordon, a freelance writer and mental health guide (peer listener). I have a B.A. in Social Work and an M. Div. (Master of Divinity) degree. But my most valuable insights and skills have come from the school of life. I’ve learned a lot from painful personal struggles and conversations with others who have been through hard times. And I’m eager to share those lessons with you and learn what you can teach me.

Why subscribe?

Subscribe to ensure you don’t miss any posts. You’ll get Changing Lives via email (or the Substack app) every Friday.

Both free and paid subscriptions are available. Paid subscribers ($5/month or $35/year) help provide the financial support necessary for me to keep writing Changing Lives. Paid subscribers are also the only readers able to comment on posts. I made that choice for safety reasons; limiting comments to paid subscribers greatly reduces spam or cruel comments.
