This Book Could Save Your Life!
It will definitely change your life if you apply what the doctor who wrote it learned from research and interviews of people who recovered from incurable fatal diseases
I discovered this life-changing book thanks to a mental health book club I belong to. It’s now one of the top five mental health book recommendations in my online bookshop!
The book shares stories of people who recovered from incurable fatal diseases and shocked the medical professionals had diagnosed and treated them. The doctor who wrote this book thoroughly researched those cases.
Here’s one example:
Daniel had embryonal cell cancer that had spread throughout his body. Doctors told him in May 1959 he had no chance of surviving more than a year and would probably die within weeks. So he reconsidered some recent decisions and focused on things he wanted to do before he died. One was to marry his girlfriend. Within days of the wedding, the tumors on his neck were gone. Doctors ordered an x-ray a week later, on July 20. The author describes the results:
Shockingly, it showed not only that the visible tumors in his lymphatic system were completely gone but also that the pulmonary metastases in his chest cavity seemed to be shrinking. They could think of no explanation …
On July 31, a follow-up x-ray showed that the metastases were gone. The dark spots on the scan had been seemingly erased …
And on August 8, 1959, he was informed that his cancer had fully regressed. There was absolutely no evidence of disease in his body.
What’s especially interesting about this case is that Daniel had been in therapy and observed by a psychiatrist during the onset, spread, and regression of his cancer. Detailed psychological records revealed a striking correlation between his psychological state and that of his cancer.
For the author, that raised questions like these:
What was it about the specter of death that freed him to live? Given all that changed for him both medically and psychologically in the course of his recovery, was this about the death of his false self and the birth of his true self? About moving through fear to embrace life and purpose? About liberation inspired by feeling loved?
There are many other remarkable stories in the book. It also contains fascinating facts about the close connections between our immune and nervous systems. It points out that serotonin “basically originates in the gut.” It describes how our gut’s microbiome constantly shifts and is shaped by our environment, diet, and other factors.
Then the author summarizes the problem with current Western medical training and standard practices. He says “instead of taking care of our lives and bodies so that we are less likely to get ill in the first place, we’ve created a trigger-happy culture in medicine that leaps to these sorts of late interventions … "
The book contains much more information and inspiration. The author even ties in insights from quantum physicists!
Hopefully what I’ve shared here has made you curious enough to want to read it. If so, please purchase Cured: The Life-Changing Science of Spontaneous Remissions by Jeffrey Rediger from my online bookshop. Then let me know whether you think this book is as wonderful as I do!
P.S. Please share this post to help others who could benefit from reading the book find it!
It sounds like a very good book. Certainly, when someone can recover from an illness like that, it speaks of a deep healing. I am sure a book like this can give many people hope.
What an mazing subject to talk about and really explore deeply! Because of you bringing this up that scientists are studying what may unlock for each person spontaneous healing. Three subjects in this vein I would like to bring up...Zac Effron one of his"Episodes" in the Netflix Series "Down to Earth"; goes to France, and goes to the Lourdes Water Healing Center. ( This water Healing Center was started by St. Bernadette in the 1800s.) Anyway Zac and Bryan talk to one of the Doctors there who studies people who have had " spontaneous healings", though touching the Lourdes Water, and received spontaneous healings. I have forgotten the Doctor's name. He makes it clear that he doesn't "coerce" people to heal themselves. He merely documents through their self disclosure writings, stories and X-ray evidence of before and after the spontaneous healings. I forgotten what percentage of people have had these healings. I believe it's a small percentage. Anyway it is worth checking out.
There's also an older book called "Love, Medicine and Miracles" by Bernie Siegal, A Cancer Doctor/Oncologist who did art therapy, meditation, and relaxation techniques to help people get back to loving themselves. He believed if you work with each WHOLE person, Body, Mind and Soul you could assist them to heal their mistaken belief systems. I believe he also did cancer drug protocols with them.
I also believe each one of us has a "Healing Energy Field" surrounding us. Especially if each person tries to bring in GOD's love and grace, surrounding us. I try to pray to God every day to treat complete strangers with kindness and respect. Today I was walking to a hospital after parking. It was quite a big complex to navigate through the parking lot to the "Admissions" from the parking lot. So asked a very kind man in his forties who parked near us if he knew how to get to the admissions office, so I could check in for my colonoscopy. He immediately said" I would be glad to take you there- I am going the same direction." It turns out he was black and a muslim. He said he has been "fasting" during the day when he works, and eats at sunset. This is for him part of "Ramadan". I thanked for educating me. Interestingly,I had just been on a "liquid diet" yesterday in preparation for the colonoscopy. So like Jesus meeting the Samaratan woman at the well, you never know whom you might meet, whether Jewish people, Muslim people, or Christian people. I believe everyone serves kindness, love, and courtesy, (INCLUDING OURSELVES).
