Hello!

I am Marie Loewen, a retired (sort of!) Anglican clergywoman

I have been married for 50 years. My Rob is an even less-retired contractor. We have three grown children and their spouses and 13 grandchildren

I am an aspiring writer, spiritual director, volunteer facilitator for grief groups, clergy mentor, passionate gardener and terrible harpist

I have lived through times of deep joy and significant pain, often mixed together in a God-woven tapestry

As we emerge from COVID I find myself experiencing a bit of mild anxiety and unusual longing for the quiet days of more isolation. This is rare for this extreme extrovert

Thanks for introducing yourself, Marie! You mentioned that you are an aspiring writer…let me know if you want any tips about writing on Medium. How awesome that you are a harpist, even if you think you are a terrible one. I have always loved harp music.

Thank you! I was working on Medium for a while but it has dropped off. I am a part of Hopewriters and I have as writing group with them. That has kind of become my focus. We write together 3 mornings a week

I have a Facebook page where I am writing now - and a blog and web page to get going soon

The Facebook page is Morning Musings by Marie if you want to check it out

The harp is my go-to relaxer😍

I also have a Hope Writers group. We talk over Voxer about once a week for the last 18 months. Sometimes writing can be lonely so it’s a blessing to have support and prayer along the way. Wendi if you’re interested in joining, let me know.

Alyson, I might be. I would like to learn more about it. Also, I’ve never used Voxer and know nothing about it.

We have myself and three other ladies in the group. They are spread across the US. We met through Hope Writers and then just continued by ourselves. Voxer is an app where you can record voice messages. So whenever you have time throughout the week you can leave a little 2 to 5 minute voice message updating the group on what you’re working on that week or if you need prayers on something in your writing. We used to be strict with leaving our Monday mission and our Wednesday wins but now it’s just more organic whenever people have time. It’s become a really nice support for me I’ve just knowing there are other people doing similar things and that I can reach out to for help or share my excitement with . Even if this group is not a good fit for you, I really encourage finding a group that is. It has been a big blessing for me and kept me going with writing in times when maybe I didn’t want to!

Thanks for that info, Alyson. I’m glad you have a good support group. I don’t think that group is right for me at this time, but I am part of other support groups and agree that they are blessings!
