I love the idea of thinking about our future self. I pray my future self becomes kinder, gentler, quicker to laugh and can look back and feel satisfied by the life she led.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Mary. I would like all of the things you listed to be true of my future self, too! I think learning to be kinder and gentler to myself will help me become kinder and gentler to others as well.

Amazing post, Wendi, thank you. 4 and 5 break my heart, and I really need to sort those out sooner rather than later. Working on them. 😊

I’m glad you found this post valuable. I have reconnected with several friends from many years ago in the last year, and it’s been wonderful! #5 is my greatest challenge. Even when things are going well, I take life way too seriously and don’t allow myself enough time for fun.

Great post, Wendi!! I just quit my job in September, so this really speaks to me. Life is too short to live up to the expectations of others. That's actually why I write online lol. It feels so freeing and authentic to me. I hope my future self will laugh, love, and enjoy as much as my present self wants her to!

Thanks, Angeli. I also love the sense of freedom and ability to be my authentic self that writing online has given me. Too many traditional employers require people to sacrifice not only their time but also their values. I’m not willing to sell my soul for any price!
